Bilateral negotiations with the Republic of Austria

The bilateral negotiations for harmonizing the text of the agreement on exchange and mutual protection of classified information between the Delegation of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia for negotiating agreements for exchange and mutual protection of classified information on bilateral basis with other countries and the delegation of the Government of the Republic of Austria were held in the period from 06-07 May 2014 at the Directorate for Security of Classified Information in Skopje.
The Macedonian delegation was led by the Director of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information, and the Austrian delegation was led by Mr. Gregor Schusterschitz, Head of the Legal Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria.

Signed Security Arrangement with the Slovenian NSA

The Implementing Security Arrangement on the exchange of data for Security Cooperation between the Slovenian NSA and the Macedonian NSA was signed on April 15, 2014 at the Directorate for Security of Classified Information.
The Implementing Security Arrangement was signed by the Director of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information of the Republic of Macedonia, and Mr. Boris Mohar, Director of the Government Office for the Protection of Classified Information of the Republic of Slovenia.

Lecture

On April 14, 2014, The Director of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information, held a lecture for the students of the Faculty for Security – Skopje at the premises of the Directorate on the set-up, the function and the role of the Directorate within the security system of the state.

Agreement with the Republic of Serbia

The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on Exchange and Mutual Protection of Classified Information was signed on February 28, 2014 in Skopje.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, the Agreement was signed by the Director of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information, and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Agreement was signed by Mr. Goran Matic, Ph. D., Director of the Office of the National Security Council and Classified Information Protection.


TAIEX Study Visit to the National Security Authority of Romania

30-31 January 2014, Bucharest

 

On 30-31 January 2014 representatives of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information accomplished a study visit to the National Security Authority of Romania. The accent of the visit was put on the physical security of classified information and the CIS security accreditation. The study visit was supported by the European Commission TAIEX instrument.

Meeting of the Directors of the National Security Authorities from the Region

At the meeting of the directors of the National Security Authorities from the region, held on November 28, 2013 in Ljubljana, Republic of Slovenia, joint conclusions were brought and they were expressed in the following Closing Statement:

“The directors of the NSAs from the region met in Ljubljana at the Regional Meeting of six NSA directors in Ljubljana, Slovenia (RND – 6S meeting).

The goal of the event was reached: RND – 6S confirmed the commitment to upgrade the process of protecting classified information in the region and to demonstrate an awareness that the region itself has to take responsibility for the development of its field of work. Moreover, RND – 6S would like to identify initiatives and projects that might stimulate regional cooperation and integration.

TAIEX Study Visit to the National Security Authority of the Slovak Republic

On 11-14 November 2013 three representatives of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information accomplished a study visit to the National Security Authority of the Slovak Republic related to the industrial security of classified information. The study visit was supported by the European Commission TAIEX instrument.

TAIEX Workshop on TEMPEST

Sarajevo, 23-24 October 2013

 

On 23-24 October 2013 three representatives of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information participated in the TAIEX workshop on TEMPEST equipment and TEMPEST zoning. The aim of the workshop was to encourage further regional cooperation of the Western Balkan countries in ensuring protection of classified information through protection against compromising electromagnetic emanations or TEMPEST countermeasures.

First phase of the bilateral negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina

The first phase of the bilateral negotiations between the governments of the Republic of Macedonia and of Bosnia and Herzegovina for entering into an agreement on exchange and mutual protection of classified information were held in the beginning of October 2013 in Skopje. The negotiations were led by the representatives of the National Security Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Delegation of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia for negotiating agreements for exchange and mutual protection of classified information on bilateral basis with other countries.

Multinational Industrial Security Working Group (MISWG) Conference

Vienna, Austria, 17-20 September 2013

 

The 28th annual Multinational Industrial Security Working Group (MISWG) Conference was held in the period from 17-20 September 2013 in Vienna, Austria. The Republic of Macedonia took part in the conference for the first time with a status of an observer country and was represented by the director of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information.

The focus of the conference was put on a variety of issues related to the protection of classified information with a particular emphasis on the industrial security, presented through the national presentations of the participating countries.
