Sixth Conference of the National Security Authorities of the South East European Countries (SEENSA)

The Sixth Conference of the South East European National Security Authorities (SEENSA) took place on 29 September 2016 in Podgorica, Republic of Montenegro. The conference that was co-chaired by the RCC Secretary General, Mr. Goran Svilanovic, was attended by delegations of the National Security Authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Bulgaria, Republic of Croatia, Kosovo, Republic of Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Montenegro, Romania, Republic of Slovenia and Republic of Serbia.

MISWG AHWG 10 First Meeting

Tel Aviv, 12-13 April 2016

 

After being established at the MISWG Conference held in September 2016 in Tel Aviv, Israel, the MISWG Ad-hoc Working Group on Foreign Ownership, Control or Influence - FOCI (ADWHG 10), held its first meeting on 12-13 April in Tel Aviv.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the national industrial security authorities of the AHWG 10 member states; Israel, USA, Canada, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Macedonia, Germany, Slovenia, Spain and New Zealand. The representatives of the Great Britain and of Australia were not present, while Sweden, as the host of the MISWG conference to be held in September 2017, participated in the capacity of an observer.
At the meeting national FOCI reports were presented and the future activities that need to be accomplished in the period approaching the MISWG 2017 conference were agreed on.

Protection of the Critical Infrastructure / Key Structures in, from and through the Cyber Space

Upon invitation of the United States European Command, through the competent authorities at the US Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia, a representative of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information attended an international cyber conference entitled Protection of the critical infrastructure / key structures in, from and through the cyber space. The conference took place on the 22 and 23 October 2015 at the European Centre for Security Studies “George S. Marshal”, Garmish-Partenkirhen, Germany. At the conference, the experts from the United States addressed the standardization of the security in the cyber space and the protection of the critical infrastructure in, from and through the cyber space.

Cyber Security for Countries in Development Conference

Istanbul, 26–27 October 2015

 

On 26-27 October 2015, in Istanbul, Turkey, a conference was held on the cyber security for countries in development. It was attended by two representatives from the Directorate for Security of Classified Information. The discussions at the conference where mostly focused on the standards for protection from cyber attacks and obtaining comparative information on how the national structures for cyber security are organized, including the national CERT teams in the countries, which was in fact the goal of the conference. The event was organized under the auspices of the UNDP, EU and France Expertise.

Cyber Security Conference

Belgrade, Serbia, 29-30 October 2015

 

On the 29-30 October 2015, a representative of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information attended a cyber security conference that took place in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia. The conference named Effective strategies for cyber/ IKT security threats was organized by the OSCE and the Republic of Serbia. The emphasis was placed on the first set of confidence building measures adopted by the OSCE member countries in 2013, aimed at improving the international communication and exchange of information between the OSCE members and the other international organizations in attempt to decrease the risk of conflict that may arise from using the IKT technology.

Cyber Threat Summit

Dublin, October 1, 2015

 

Two representatives of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information attended the International Cyber Threat Summit 2015 that took place on October 1, 2015 in Dublin, Ireland. The summit, as the one of the most important and most influential events that take place once a year and that include discussions on cyber security topics, was an excellent opportunity for establishing new contacts and for advancing the knowledge on cyber security aimed at strengthening the capacities of the Directorate in this area of expertise.

Cyber Security Conference

Sibiu, 23–26 September 2015

 

A Cyber Security Conference was held on 23-26 September 2015 in Sibiu, Romania. It was attended by one representative of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information. This conference, which was organized for the third time, gathered distinguished companies related to cyber security from all over the world and included discussions on current topics related to information security.

30th Multinational Industrial Security Working Group (MISWG) Conference

Tel Aviv, 31 August -4 September 2015

 

The Director of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information attended the jubilee 30th Multinational Industrial Security Group (MISWG) Conference that took place in the period from the 31 August to 4 September 2015 in Tel Aviv, Israel. At the conference, where the Republic of Macedonia has the status of an observer country, the emphasis was placed on the national reports of the participating countries about their achievements in the current year in the field of the industrial security of classified information and on the plans for cooperation in the period to come until the next conference.

Multilateral meeting at a level of 6S

Sarajevo, 15-16 June, 2015

 

Between 15 and 16 of June 2015, representatives from the Directorate for Security of Classified Information participated in a multilateral expert meeting which was held in Sarajevo in 6S format. In the framework of the 6S initiative, different possibilities and modalities of data exchange in the field of personnel security have been discussed amongst the NSA experts.

Fifth SEENSA Conference

Skopje, May 20, 2015

 

The fifth conference of the National Security Authorities of the countries of the South East Europe (SEENSA) was held on May 20, 2015 in Skopje, in co-organization of the Directorate for Security of Classified Information of the Republic of Macedonia and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC). The conference marked a small jubilee of the initiative for the meeting of the Heads of the National Security Authorities (NSAs) of the countries of the South East Europe (SEE), launched in May 2011 in Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria.

The participants in the conference represented seven NSAs from the region: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. Besides the representatives of the host NSA, the conference was attended by a representative of
